* Aadhar card not accepted in Bhutan.
Note—On arrival permit is also possible but it is suggested to take permit before travel to avoid the long process at immigration.
Itinerary
• On arrival at Paro Airport and after completing your Visa / Permit formalities you will be received by our Bhutan representative who will assist you in boarding your vehicle for transfer to Thimphu 65 Kms / 01½ to 02 Hrs),
• Thimphu City tour till check in Time. Visit – Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodong),Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery), Motithang Takin Preservation Centre, Drupthob Goemba / Zilukha Nunnery, Textiles Museum (Handicrafts Shops - Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holiday), Zangthopelri Lhakhang (Monastery)
• 1400-Check in
• 1530—Evening city tour till 1800 hrs (Remaining from above mentioned tours.
• Dinner in Hotel.
• Overnight at Hotel in Thimphu.NOTE—ITINERARY BASED ON EARLY MORNING 0715 AM ARRIVAL—PLEASE CHECK YOUR ACTUAL TIMING AS ITINERARY WILL CHANGE AS PER ACTUAL FLIGHT TIMING
• After breakfast drive to Wangdi (Wangdiphodrang) 70 Kms / 03 to 3½ Hrs One way) , across Dochula pass (3O8Om). In Bhutan, the passes are marked by a large Bhutanese Chorten and prayer flag. Dochula pass offers the most spectacular view over the high peaks of the eastern Himalayas on a clear day.
• visit Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of two rivers. It was the capital of Bhutan until 1955, and still serves as the winter residence of the monk body.
• Evening you drive back to Thimphu.
• Overnight at the Hotel in Thimphu.
• After breakfasts -Later transfer to Paro 65 Kms / 01½ to 02 Hrs).
• Paro Airport Bird’s Eye View Point- The Paro international airport is among the top 10 most stunning and challenging airports in the world. The view point offers an exquisite view of the Paro valley.
• Rinpung Dzong- ‘Fortress on a Heap of Jewels’, is ranked one of the best Bhutanese architecture. The massive buttressed walls that tower over the town are visible throughout the valley, particularly when landing at Paro Airport.
• The Dzong also offers administrative seat of the district of Paro. The Dzong was built in 1644 under the order of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. National Museum of Paro- Perched above Paro Dzong it was watchtower built in 1649 to protect the undefended Paro Dzong located below, renovated in 1968 to house the National Museum. Today this museum houses the best collections of all time historical items making worth for a visit.
• Overnight at Hotel in Paro.
• Breakfast—(suggested not to take breakfast or very little to avoid and problem during hiking.
• Start the day early for a day hike to Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest Monastery) - The hike which is all the way uphill takes about 2 /3 hours one way through pine forests. Afternoon at leisure for go for shopping in the market. (please carry good trekking comfortable shoes , water & some snacks and a walking stick if available will be good to carry)
• Overnight at Hotel in Paro.
NOTE—TO BE DONE IF PHYSICALLY FIT TO TREK/HIKE & NO JOINTS PROBLEM AS ITS LITTLE TOUGH DUE TO STEEP HEIGHT & LOT OF STEPS
• After breakfast transfer to Paro Airport for taking onward connection.
